The Backyard Open Mic Night at Sideshow Bookstore

The Backyard is an open mic event held the third Sunday of every month. PS Poets joined forces with event founder, Jenna Dorn, to put on a show full of original acts and lots of love. Last Sunday, Sideshow regulars and artists in the community got together to celebrate a night of art and expression. The support was felt as soon as you entered the room. It's the perfect space for anyone looking to perform.

Here is what you need to know:

The Location

Sideshow Bookstore has all the musts—endless books, ambient lighting, and cool contemporary art. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to get lost in. The tall wooden shelves of books on top of books, leave plenty of room for hidden treasures to be found. Add it to your list and make your way to this cozy oasis. 

The Vibe

The warm white hanging lights and tightly-fitted chairs offer the perfect ambiance for an evening of live music and poetry. Jenna—the host--is an essential piece of the night, offering words of encouragement as performers come on and off stage. It's an ideal setting for all performers!

The Artists
​This open mic is intimate and casual, whether you are a novice or seasoned pro, it will have you feeling right at home. The night showcases a diverse group of artists. Musicians and poets of all entry levels are welcomed.
